Light-Shelf and Thermal Chimney
Greenform principal, Christine Magar, while working for the City of Seattle, worked with a team to design a light-shelf as a retrofit for an existing office building in Seattle creating more comfort for the occupant by controlling glare and heat-gain. It brings daylight deeper into the occupied space and it collects the heat gain from the window and exhausts it into the ceiling plenum.

Green Building Analysis - Tom Bradley International Terminal - Los Angeles International Airport

LAX Airport

LAX Airport
Greenform conducted a green building analysis for the $750 million renovation and expansion of the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport -- the single largest construction contract in Los Angeles history.

The Tom Bradley building is a 1M-sf facility that supports 36 airlines, immigration, customs, and Department of Agriculture operations.

Greenform’s Green Building Team investigated the best available sustainable and energy efficiency strategies for building systems, building products, and materials for the terminal expansion. Opportunities for reducing water and energy use and improving indoor environmental quality were identified. After the design changes, the building project team can boast 14% energy savings, 20% water reduction and 95% construction waste diversion from a landfill.
